Heat Exchange Systems

Description:

Our TECHNO SYSTEM patented heat exchangers are distinguished by their exchange plates, designed to provide extra flexibility. They are made with strips of metal sheet cut and folded in "U" shape with gaskets on the inside. These gaskets have the great advantage of not being glued and are therefore easily replaceable. The gaskets hold the metal mesh of turbulators in place; this is the fundamental element of the plates because, in addition to performing a function of support for the plates that are assembled in bundles, the 1urbulators force the fluids passing through them into a turbulent, eddying movement even at low speed (and flow) thus ensuring very high exchange coefficients .

The turbulators can have a variety of geometrical shapes in order to optimize the exchange coefficients and pressure drops even with flows (or fluids) that differ considerably from one another in the two circuits (this is the typical case of district heating).

Basically the plates can be made in any thermal length. It should also be pointed out that the turbulators, as they come into contact with the metal when the bundle is completely tightened, also act as fins on the plates, thereby increasing the effective heat exchange area.

Among other things, it has also been found that the continuous thermal expansion of these elements helps to prevent the formation of hard scale, which facilitates maintenance.

SAFETY

Aside from the very important and exclusive features mentioned above, TECHNO SYSTEM heat exchangers are the only ones that can be used safely in an extremely vast pressure-temperature range (up to 40 bar and 150°C). This is achieved by the special design of the gaskets and the manner in which they are held in place and fastened all along the edge.

The U-shaped fold of the outer edge of the plates performs the dual function of ensuring that the gasket is not dislodged by possible water hammering or excessive pressure, and also acts as a protective shield against any leakage of fluids under pressure if the gasket should break.

ECONOMY

In conclusion, the economy of TECHNO SYSTEM heat exchangers is due to two equally important factors:

  • On the perfect optimization in the size of the devices, in view of the flexibility described, that eliminates the waste of unnecessary surface areas not strictly necessary for heat exchanging. This, obviously, affects the purchase price of the heat exchanger.
  • The cost of use of the heat exchanger that, after installation, will require adeguate maintenance in time. The particularly high average life of the gaskets, the ease of replacement, the closure of the exchanger that requires no special tools or respect of special closing points (failing which would jeopardize the seal) means that less maintenance is necessary (reducing it to a minimum) eliminating the problem of prolonged interruptions of service.

As far as spare parts are concerned, with TECHNO SYSTEM heat exchangers only a few extra gaskets should be kept on hand and their cost is really negligible.
